Blooming with Age: An Introduction to Yoga for Healthy Aging

A virtual weekend with Baxter Bell

Join Baxter Bell and Bloom for a weekend of virtual workshops centered on healthy aging and yoga. This weekend of livestream sessions is packed full of gentle movement and engaging conversation.

Baxter Bell is an experienced and well-known certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), yoga educator, medical acupuncturist, and physician (MD). He teaches a healing, nurturing style of Hatha yoga, balancing our desire for action with our need to quiet the mind, emphasizing the qualities of curiosity and meditation in the practice. His students say they appreciate his clarity of instruction and playful sense of humor!

 These workshops are virtual. All sessions will be recorded and recordings will be made available to registered participants for 30 days after the live event. Each 120 minute session is a 45 minute talk with 75 minute yoga practice.

What is Yoga for Healthy Aging and You?

Friday, February 24 6:00 - 8:00pm (Central)

Baxter will introduce you to the essential features of Yoga for Healthy Aging- the 3 pillars, the 4 essential physical skills, a bit about what we know about aging and how we can influence it. Then, we will enjoy a balanced yoga practice to end the week and celebrate the start of our workshop weekend!

Yoga for Cognitive Health

Saturday, February 25 1:30 - 3:30pm (Central)

Perhaps one of the greatest fears around aging is the decline in our cognitive capacity with age. In this session you will learn some special ways yoga may support better brain health as we age, then enjoy a yoga practice that incorporates these ideas.

The Four Essential Physical Skills for Aging Well

Saturday, February 25 10:00am - 12:00pm (Central)

In this session, you will meet the 4 essential physical skills and why they impact the course of aging so much, followed by a practice to highlight yoga’s unique way to cultivate each one!

The Power of Equanimity for the Inevitabilities of Aging

Sunday, February 26 10:00am - 12:00pm (Central)

Despite our best efforts, we will all eventually face some tough changes and challenges with aging. Cultivating one of the oldest concepts in the yoga tradition, equanimity, may be the icing on the cake of yoga’s benefits as we age. Our final practice will bring together all of the highlights of the weekend.

Choose from the 4 sessions and register for them individually at $60 each, or register for the full weekend for $200.
