Sharon Wentz

Sharon started practicing yoga at age 16 in the basement of her childhood home in Washington. Delighted by the way it challenged her to balance her competitive tennis passion, she became hooked by the intense focus required to remain still. By the time she was in her early 20s she’d found a studio in her new home of Chicago and completed her 200hr teacher training at Eight Limbs Yoga Center in 2004. Eager to learn more, in 2006 she graduated from her 500hr program at The Temple of Kriya Yoga. Her love of teaching continues to grow as her practice evolves with the unpredictable ways of life.

Sharon’s teaching is informed by over 20 years of practicing Iyengar, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga, and her intensive studies in neuropsychology, biology, and anthropology. In 2010, Sharon joined forces with colleague and friend Kerry Maiorca, to develop Bloom Yoga Studio’s 200hr Teacher Training Program, which first launched in 2011.
